Integrating refugees in the work of Amelo TI

The Refugee Act 2006 provides for peaceful coexistence and the sharing of available services between refugees and nationals. Also as in the Education Response Plan for Refugees and Host Communities (“Education Response Plan”) of 2018 to 2021, the Institute has a role to play in ensuring that refugees are also given equal treatment as nationals in terms of skills development and training at the Institute. Most times the Institute has partnered with private organizations and companies to support the training of refugees and has since registered good progress on various projects involving refugees and nationals. Hence ATI pledges to continue offering;

  • Equal training and operational services to both its formal students and refugee students
  • Baby care services for refuge students who come with children
  • Other things like soap and Sanitary pads to the females

This is to ensure equitable training and accessibility to operational materials.
